We have been 4 star Visit England rated in both our holiday cottages since first being rated in 2010, with our marks improving for 2011 and 2012. However for 2013 we have left the scheme as the cost had become prohibitive and the benefits negligible for a small business such as ours. We now use 'Quality in Cornwall' for the inspection. They do not give a 'Star' rating, just confirm our accommodation meets their exacting standards. We are still 4 Star as nothing has changed but are now 'self-certified'.
